For more than a decade, Regular Show has been a daily favourite in South African households, drawing an average of 558,000 viewers every day on Cartoon Network Africa. Its popularity continues to surge online, with recent Facebook Reels pulling in hundreds of thousands of local views and YouTube content generating nearly half a million views in the first two months of 2026. The show’s strong local fandom is reflected in the Sunday Times GenNext Survey, where Regular Show has consistently ranked among the Top 5 Coolest Cartoon Shows since 2015, rising to #3 in 2025.
What’s new in Regular Show: The Lost Tapes?
Premiering with a special half-hour episode, Regular Show: The Lost Tapes uncovers all-new chaotic escapades of Mordecai and Rigby, the best-friend duo whose attempts to avoid work always spiral into something far bigger (and far stranger) than they intended.
The new series centres once again on life at the park, where even the simplest tasks, from crashing a friend’s luau to searching for the perfect nap spot, quickly escalate into surreal disasters, much to the frustration of their boss and co-workers. Fans can expect the same off-beat humour, unexpected twists and heartfelt moments that made Regular Show a global favourite.
Building on that legacy, The Lost Tapes has been crafted to delight long-time fans who grew up with Mordecai and Rigby, while also welcoming a whole new generation into the chaos of the park. It’s a true cross-generational comeback, blending nostalgia with fresh, all-new adventures.
The season kicks off with a 30‑minute special on Monday, 11 May 2026 @ 17h20, followed by a batch of five brand‑new episodes. A second batch of five new episodes will premiere the following week on Monday, 18 May 2026, also at 17h20. Fans can catch repeats of the new episodes during weekdays at the same time on Cartoon Network Africa.
