Wow, what a year it’s been! It’s hard to believe that all of these events have happened in just the past 12 months.
I’ve had some major ups and downs, but overall, I’m feeling pretty good about everything that’s happened. One of the biggest things for me was seeing someone close to me go into rehab. It was a tough time, but I’m glad that they’re getting the help they need and I’m hopeful for their recovery.
Another tough moment was when someone else close to me almost committed suicide. That was a really scary and emotional time, but I’m grateful that they’re still with us.
In terms of career changes, I left a job I’d been at for 11 years to pursue a new path. It was a big move, but it felt right and I was given an amazing send off by my colleagues. Unfortunately, things didn’t work out at the new place, but I took it as an opportunity to try something different and decided to go out on my own as a freelance copywriter, social media manager, and digital marketer. It’s been a challenging but exciting journey and I’m loving every minute of it.
In addition to my freelance work, I’ve also been focusing on my blog, “The Something Guy,” on a full-time basis. It’s been going really well and I’m thrilled with the response I’ve gotten from readers.
One of the biggest highlights of the year for me was making some new friends and learning some valuable life lessons. I started the year with the catchphrase “Chase The Happiness” and I’m happy to say that I’ve been doing just that. For me, chasing happiness doesn’t mean money or fame, it’s a personal thing. I’m comfortable with the direction I’m going in and I plan to continue living my life this way.
Of course, no year is complete without its share of heartache. My mom nearly passed away this year, which was a really difficult and emotional time for me. Thankfully she pulled through and is now back to her old self again. Counting the blessings, that’s for sure. I also spent a lot of time reflecting on a lot of things during that period and it’s had a big impact on me in my immediate day-to-day life. Definitely doing things very differently.
I’m also currently going through a breakup right now, which has been rough, but I’m trying to stay positive and focus on the future. Life lessons, sometimes you really just have to step back and allow yourself that space to breathe and see things from a fresh perspective.
However, despite all of the highs and lows, I have zero regrets about anything that’s happened this year. I’ve learned so much and I’m excited to see what the next year has in store. I’ve got a lot of ideas and adventures planned and I can’t wait to see what the future holds, but also to share it all with you. This time next year… i truly hope that my life will have reached a stage of pure happiness. If it hasn’t, that’s okay too. As long as i keep pushing and don’t give up on myself.
One of the biggest things I’ve learned this year is the importance of family and friends. I’ve always appreciated my loved ones, but this year has made me realise just how much they mean to me. I’m grateful for the support and love they’ve shown me, and I plan to make the most of every moment I have with them.
Also, thank you to all of you. The people reading this. You are truly appreciated so much. You support me. You send me kind messages. You interact and engage with my content. Love and appreciate each and every single one of you.
Here’s to an amazing 2023. Cheers to you all.
