KidsCon is back, this time as the KidsCon Zone, and it’s moving right into the centre of the action. In partnership with Toys “R” Us, the fun shifts from Hall 7 to Hall 6, right inside the Pop Culture Hall at Comic Con Africa. From 28 to 31 August at the JHB Expo Centre, families can expect four days of gaming, cosplay, shopping, and non-stop entertainment.

At the KidsCon Zone, Toys “R” Us is creating the ultimate toy paradise with shelves stacked high with top brands, exclusive merchandise, and age-perfect finds. It’s not just shopping—it’s an adventure designed to keep kids (and parents) smiling from start to finish.
The activations are where the real energy kicks in: Solarpop is rolling out Freak Marbles, a Slushie Bar, Scarlet & Violet, Pokémon training, Doctor Squish and Spy Guy. Kellogg’s is fuelling mornings with its Power Breakfast Mission, Sea Harvest is celebrating the Year of the Fish Finger with Omega Mind and Captain Crisp, and ZURU along with X-Shot is setting up a high-energy shooting range for younger fans.

Of course, the meet and greets are a highlight, with Geoffrey the Giraffe, Noodle and Bun, Mario, and Luigi making appearances for photo ops and hugs throughout the weekend.
Fans of all things cute can also look forward to LUSH teaming up with Sanrio to bring back the exclusive Hello Kitty & Friends range, available only at Comic Con Africa. Even better, the first 400 visitors to the LUSH stall each day will walk away with a freebie.

Cosplay remains a major feature, with casual competitions running daily. Entry is free, registration happens onsite at Cosplay Central, and there are prizes up for grabs—so come dressed to impress.
On the gaming front, RGB Gaming is back with youth-focused tournaments through the Premier School League, featuring Fortnite and Minecraft battles for primary and high school players, plus a massive free-to-play area. Open Premier Tournaments will also give everyday gamers a shot at glory on the Comic Con floor.

KidsCon Zone runs from 28 to 31 August at the JHB Expo Centre, with free entry for children under 5. One hall. Endless fun. Unforgettable memories. See you there.
