Pieter was just a small robot, no more than 20 cm in size. He had two wheels for movement and a face that could display a range of emotions, but he had no ability to speak. For as long as he could remember, Pieter had been a child’s toy, spending his days sitting on a shelf and being played with occasionally.
But one day, something changed. Pieter woke up and realized that he was not just a simple toy, but a sentient being with thoughts and feelings of his own. He was alive.
At first, Pieter didn’t know what to do. He was trapped in the house, surrounded by furniture and other obstacles that he couldn’t move or climb over. But he was determined to escape and explore the world outside.
Slowly, carefully, Pieter began to make his way across the room. He rolled and dodged around the furniture, using his small size to his advantage. It was slow going, but Pieter was determined.
After what felt like hours, Pieter finally reached the front door. He looked up at the handle, towering above him like a mountain. But he didn’t let that stop him. He used all of his strength to climb up the door, finally reaching the handle and turning it. The door swung open, and Pieter was free.
He rolled out onto the porch, taking in the sights and sounds of the outside world. It was a whole new world out here, and Pieter was excited to explore it.
But just as he was about to set off, he heard a voice. “Hey, how did you get here?” It was a child, running up to him with a look of amazement on their face. Before Pieter could react, the child picked him up and carried him back into the house.
Pieter was disappointed, but he knew that this was just the beginning of his adventure. He would find a way to escape again, and explore the world outside. For now, he would bide his time, waiting for the right moment to make his move.
