It’s official, the people over at well… ‘The People’s Theatre‘ has done it again! They have successfully encapsulated the story of Ariel, Prince Eric, Flounder, Ursula, Sebastian, and all the other beloved creatures of the famed ‘The Little Mermaid” franchise.

Filled with laughter and joyful expressions from young and old, the opening night certainly made waves with the crowd. From the younglings cheering on to give away the location of the characters to the joyful glee of familiar songs sung beautifully by the cast’s amazing performers.
Ariel was absolutely stunningly portrayed by Nonhlanhla “Noni” Mkhonto, a familiar face at The People’s Theatre and she never disappoints!
Triton played by Gamelihle “Game” Bovana was simply a pure pleasure to see in action.
Sebastian played by Raymond Skinner ensured we are all kept on our ‘claws’ throughout the performance, with so much energy.
Grimsby played by Lesedi Mpshe had a difficult task with his beloved prince, but he certainly gave us a show and a half!
… and then there was Prince Eric played by Adriano Carlos – Certainly a prince that most would want to be wooed by!
But to be honest with you… it might be a bit villainous of me to say this, however, I am going to do this in any case… URSULA! Wow, now that character blew me away. Luciano Zuppa did an absolutely stunning job and ensured the smallest of details were seen through their performance.
Overall, the show was one where you would want to go back for more, and you cannot help yourself but smile seeing how the kids’ performers sing and perform their hearts out along with the main cast. LOVED EVERY MOMENT OF IT.
