A thousand-step journey begins with a single step out of your comfort zone. This is the principle embraced by Lizette Volkwyn, an indomitable South African figure, internationally recognised as a dynamic writer, esteemed life coach, and human lie detector. Her unconventional approach and readiness to take action are two of the many reasons that make Lizette a celebrated figure both locally and globally.
The ‘Power of Being Coachable,’ her upcoming one-off event, is a testament to Lizette’s belief in embracing vulnerability to achieve growth and even conquer the seemingly impossible. Here, Lizette is all set to showcase the true power of a coachable mind by doing something she’s never done before – singing!
Believing firmly in the phrase, “If you put your mind to it, you can achieve it,” Lizette aims to offer her audience a glimpse of the hard work and vulnerability that goes into her journey. She endeavours to debunk the myth of effortless success and constant happiness that often shrouds people in the coaching industry.
Her musical adventure began with Stephanie, a master in music who’d never trained others in singing before. Despite being musically challenged, Lizette was willing to become the student, and Stephanie proved to be the ideal guide on this journey. She created an environment of safety and growth, allowing Lizette to embrace her vulnerability fully.
The journey surprised even Stephanie, who discovered her own coaching abilities and the fact that anyone willing to be vulnerable could be coached, and might even take up the role of a ‘teacher’ eventually. It proved the powerful proposition that despite our perceived limitations, when we decide to try, to follow directions, and to be vulnerable, the impossible becomes achievable.
Joining the team is Martin Bester, known for his adventurous spirit and passion for music. As the MC for the event, he resonates with the essence of ‘The Power of Being Coachable,’ which centres around pushing boundaries and embracing challenges.
The event, which will take place at Casa Toscana in Pretoria on 19 August 2023, is more than just a day of entertainment and a light lunch. It promises a life-changing experience. The focus is not on perfection but on showcasing our shared human experience – complete with weaknesses and flaws. It’s a celebration of the indomitable spirit of being coachable.
The ‘Power of Being Coachable‘ offers the promise of an unexpected experience. Among Lizette’s current ventures is the intriguing ‘AskYourCoach’ service and her new book, ‘Triumph in Vulnerability.’ With a notable career highlighted by engagements at the Swedish embassy during the Nobel Prize week and qualifying for the CeFF program, Lizette continues to transform lives, inspiring people to step out of their comfort zones and embrace their potential.
So, are you ready to embark on this transformative journey and unlock the power of being coachable? Remember Lizette’s motto: “Expect the unexpected!”.
