Some songs never really leave you, and if you were anywhere near a radio, a cinema or a school dance in 1998, you know exactly which one I am talking about.
Barbie is honouring Celine Dion with a brand new Barbie Signature collector doll, and it is every bit as dramatic and elegant as you would hope.

The doll pays tribute to one of her most memorable fashion moments, the look she wore at an awards show in 1998 when she performed “My Heart Will Go On.”
Think a sleek navy turtleneck gown that hugs every line before spilling into a sweeping mermaid train. It is understated, confident and very, very Celine.

Then there is the necklace. It is inspired by the “Heart of the Ocean,” the famous blue heart-shaped diamond from the 1997 film Titanic. That detail alone, I suspect, will sell this doll to an entire generation.

The finishing touches are lovely too, from the sculpted pin curls and silver earrings to a pair of sharp black ankle-strap heels peeking out from under that train.

Celine shared what the honour means to her, and it is a sweet one.
“It is a true honor to join the Barbie legacy with a doll inspired by one of the most meaningful moments of my career. I hope this doll inspires everyone to express themselves with confidence, follow their dreams and believe in the power of their own voice.”
Celine Dion, Award-Winning Singer, Entrepreneur and Philanthropist

If anyone has earned a doll, it is her. Celine Dion is widely recognised as one of the best-selling female artists in music history, with over 250 million albums sold worldwide and more than 75 global awards to her name.
And in 2024 she made that unforgettable return to the world stage, singing “Hymne à L’Amour” from the Eiffel Tower. I still get chills thinking about it.
She now joins a seriously impressive line-up of musical honorees in the Barbie Signature Series, including Whitney Houston, Tina Turner, Diana Ross, Elton John, David Bowie, Stevie Nicks, Kylie Minogue, Aaliyah, Gloria Estefan, Miley Cyrus, Juan Gabriel and Elvis Presley.

The Barbie Signature Celine Dion doll is available now, exclusively through Mattel Creations, at a suggested retail price of $60.
For collectors, Titanic fans and anyone who has ever belted out that key change in the car, this one is going straight onto the wish list.
